T O P I C R E V I E WAshyI'm hoping that some of you experts can help me. My wife has some stamps, the new sticky variety, (peel off and stick) and not the type you lick. She wants to know how to remove them from the envelopes for placing into a stock book. Will soaking in water do or is there some other way? Please help, I'm sick of used envelopes all over the house.Si micropoozI've read (haven't tried it yet) that you need to soak them for a long time (much more than the 5 minutes or so for the old lick & stick versions). I'd suggest putting one in a bowl of water and just keep an eye on it to see when (if) it floats away from the envelope paper.AshyThanks for that. My wife used this method with moderate success. There is still a residue of glue left and so it doesn't all come off. Will continue!Si spaceukJust a thought here would training a hairdryer on the REVERSE side of envelope paper - to apply direct heat - be sufficient to - maybe - soften the glue sufficient to be able to peel the stamp off ?Not tried it - yet.Just a thought !
